"GO ITSY" REVIEW
The Beat Magazine, Vol 22 # 6 2003

"Kids love music and music has no greater aim than to teach cultural diversity, making Asheba's CD, 'GO ITSY', an excellent educational tool as well as a completely captivating, fun experience for young people. Many old friends are here in Caribbean garb including 'Skip to My Lou', 'Twinkle Twinkle (Little Star)' and of course 'Itsy Bitsy Spider' as well as sing-along musical concepts like 'Boodabye' and 'If You're Happy' (and you love it clap your hands). Asheba hails from Trinidad and his improvisational exuberance builds the joyous release of energy (something every parent craves) to an artform with simple guitar percussion structures and strong rhythms and melodies. Ten full-length interactive tracks followed by six 'unplugged' acoustic versions, a treat for all ages expecially the young at heart."

Testimonials

"We appreciate the extra measure of special attention Asheba gave to the children in the immunocompromised Patient Unit. Helping a shy child to engage, a crying child to calm and a teenager to get up out of bed, was great to watch."
Rebecca Rice, Child Life Specialist, Oakland Children's Hospital

"Asheba is THE perfect kids artist. An authentic world music entertainer with a ravenous kids following in the Bay Area. A great personality, excellent musicianship and songwriting skills. Not to mention being a multi-instrumentalist and great adult performer with original material as well."
Paul Curatolo , Earwitness Music

"Asheba is the Pied Piper of Trinidad! Last time he performed at Berkeley's Ashkenaz, 250 children young and old packed the house! He's sure to have you dancing!"
BB Borowitz, Ashkenaz Music and Dance Comunity Center

"Asheba is a Fairyland favorite, delighting thousands of children with his joyful Caribbean interpretation of songs kids love."
C.J. Hirschfield , Children's Fairyland

"Asheba has young audiences rockin' and jumping to the hippiest children's music in Oakland. From Toddlers to "tweens, the beat says FUN!"
Rea Holzman, Museum of Children's Art (MOCHA)
